How do I get rid of hazardous waste?

Call us on 01923 675677 and speak to our hazardous waste department.

What size skip do I need?

Pink Skips, offer a full range of skips from 3 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. The Skip Size Chart on our website will give you an idea of what's best for you. If you are unsure of which skip is right for your project, please contact our skip hire team on 01923 675677 who will be more than happy to advise you on the best size skip to suit your requirements.

Will my drive be damaged by the skip?

Block paved and soft tarmac drives can be damaged when placing skips on them. Heavy skips, which require stabilising equipment, may also potentially cause damage. While we will take every care to prevent damage, please be aware if the ground or property is not suitable for a HGV, P B Donoghue will not take responsibility for any damage to a customer’s property or premises or manholes. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the property is capable of carrying the weight of a HGV. The placement of the skip is done so at the customers own risk. We will not place skips on grassed areas, neither will the vehicle drive across or place stabilising equipment onto a grass area. We will not place stabilising equipment on public footpaths or any other council property other than the public highway. All skips must be level loaded and larger skips (over 8 yards) must not contain heavy materials, to ensure the safe transportation back to our recycling centre. Should you need advice please call our skip hire team on 01923 675677 who will be more than happy to help.

Where can the skips be placed?

We will place your skip in the most convenient location which might be your driveway or the road. If we need to place the skip on the road you will need a permit, correct signage and lights. PB Donoghue will not place skips at a location where the vehicle is required to travel over a raised kerb, paving slabs or where we are requested to lift over walls, fences or any other obstacle. Where the skip is sited on private property the hirer must have the express permission of the property owner. Please contact us if you cannot place the skip on private land and we will organise a permit for you. Alternatively, we may be able to organise a wait and load facility.

When and how do I pay?

All skip hire orders are paid for at the time of ordering. You can pay securely online when you place your booking, or our skip hire team can process your payment over a secure line. We accept payment by all major credit cards.

What am I NOT ALLOWED to put in my skip?

Fridges/Freezers, Tyres, Paint Cans, TV's/Monitors, Asbestos, Clinical/Medical Waste, Fluorescent Tubes, Solvents, Liquids, Oil, Batteries, Plasterboard, Hazardous/Toxic Material, Mattresses, Sofas and Armchairs are not permitted in general waste skips. Should you wish to dispose of any hazardous items then please call our skip hire team on 01923 675677 who will be more than happy to help.

Do I need a permit?

Permits are required by most local councils for skips that need to be placed on a public highway and require varying notification periods. In most cases we will be able to arrange a permit for you. A few councils require that the hirer must apply for the permit, we will advise you during the booking process if you are required to arrange the permit. PB Donoghue will not place skips on public property without a valid permit.

I need a skip on my drive, how wide is your lorry?

A standard skip lorry requires a minimum of 10ft (3.3 meters) width to gain access, regardless of what size skip you have ordered. If you have site restrictions then please contact our skip hire team on 01923 675677

How long does it take to get a skip?

Pink skips always endeavour to offer a same day or next day service, this is of course dependent on location and whether a road permit is required or not.

How long can I keep the skip?

The normal skip hire period is for a maximum of 14 days. However, should you require the skip to be serviced within this period please contact out skip hire team on 01923 675677.
